 CHRISTMAS TIME IS HERE!!!
We are also putting together treat bags to give away to those in need this holiday season. We donate these to various hospitals in the area for any family going through this. small sized lotions and toothbrushes along with toothpaste is always appreciated. A little gift or card made by your own hands or that of your child makes it even more special!! It's always nice to give a gift certificate for a small amount to help out from your favorite restaurant. Anything helps. If you bake please contact us to plan our "From Our Hearts" Bake Sale coming up too!!!

On April 11th, we were at Placer High School in Auburn. Ashley Alitzer had chosen our non-profit as her focus for her Senior High School Project. I  was so excited about this event and was so touched when "Derek's Song" was played by the Krates as well as several of their own songs. These young people have touched me to my very core and I can't possibly tell you what it means to so many how the unselfishly give to help us make a difference. Thanks for coming out and showing your support !!  All enjoyed  a fun evening of a great music and a sense of community spirit!!

On Thursday, February 14, we were packed wall to wall at our Second Annual "Laughs" Show with Laughs Unlimited in Old Town Sacramento. WE WERE SOLD OUT!!!We had the most amazing evening! We worked through all the kinks and endless questions and even when we ran out of our yummy burritos by  Chipotle, we calmed their hunger thanks to Steve's quick thinking...
Our beautiful song by The Krates" A Time To Go" along with an evening of both originals with a couple of covers were the perfect addition to a great evening.....Thanks Boys!! YOU ROCK!!!!
These boys have touched my heart and I am in awe of their willingness to open themselves up to our cause...I know Derek would be honored...
All in all I am so glad the evening went so well...I was nervous and am sure I forgot something but in my heart I am so thankful that there were smiles and compliments about the fun, classy event that we presented....Thanks to all who were behind the scenes; especially Carrie (Krates band Mom)and Jenny, (one of Derek's Wish Assisted Families)Courtney with Creative Talent and of course my fav..the Cookie Lee jewelry Lady...

The Pulitzer Prize winning photos have been on display all over the world and have been seen locally at the Exposure Gallery in San Francisco on the corner of 4th and Howard. The response has been huge! Thank you all so much  for the e-mails and uplifting comments that have been sent to me. It means more than you know to hear how the pictures have impacted your lives and to know that my choice to share"Our Journey" was not in vain. I believe the biggest shock I had was when I went to Japan Sept. 8th thru the 13th and was overwhelmed to see the response from all those who were there!!! WOW!! It was truly amazing. I felt like a rock star.....Thank you Mianichi Newspaper for hosting me. I believe the most special moment was when I met other mom's, like me, that had lost a child to cancer; I felt that when I shared the pictures that day they shared my pain.....without any language barriers. It was an honor....I still think of those moments often....

FALL 2007

On September 16, 2007 we  joined my girlfriend George and her daughter Khandi to have John's  Awesome Run.  It was in honor of her son, John, that passed away from cancer.  The motorcycle run began here in Sac and went up to Auburn and was a very memorable event. We even had a presentation from Lady Lillian who sang a very beautiful song in honor of Derek that she personally wrote. It was a powerful moment that  I will never forget. Thank you for taking the time to share from your heart.Khandi & George, you have touched me from the bottom of my heart. I'm so glad that I met you! I have had the honor of getting to know both of these lovely women and I couldn't be more proud of either of them. They have been there for me personally and I love them both to peices. Much love to both!

We joined with Magnum Opus at our Sac City Fashion Show on November 3rd and had an outstanding turnout!! The models were looking spectaculor (even Vincent, one of Derek's older brothers, was a model.)and to be honest I was impressed with how all the stress of working with such a huge production could turn into the most beautiful evening ever...Thank you so much Grace for all your hard work as well as the whole production team...the effort was not in vain; even when we had to change venues last minute because of the overwhelming response!!! Thanks to all who came out and supported us!!!

Thank you Grace & Lexi for taking me to San Francisco Fashion Week on Saturday, the 25th of August. We had a blast meeting new designers that we plan on having in one of many shows. We also had a chance to visit Exposure Gallery on 4th & Howard before the event and I shared with them the display of the Pulitzer Pictures that are there. What a powerful experience. (The gallery has extended the display for another month.) I am honored that you have chosen us to be your focus and to be such a huge positive reinforcement in my life.
